Seventh Tour Christmas (12-17 Demo)

When thinking about how fortunate I am at Christmas, I can't help to think about those who have loved ones at war... This was written from that perspective
There’d still be Christmas without cards to write
There’d still be Christmas without candles burning bright
There’d still be Christmas without a tree to light
But it isn’t Christmas without the one I love to hold me tight

On the seventh tour of a second war; and there’s no end in sight
On the seventh tour of a second war; and I’m sick of all these silent nights
All I want for Christmas All I want for Christmas
Is the one I love…Home safe in my arms…Home and safe in my arms…

There’s an empty place where the one I love should sit
There’s an empty place in my heart where nothing seems to fit
There’s an empty place where the spirit should belong
But I tell myself that it won’t be long, no, it won’t be long

On a seventh tour of a second war; and there’s no end in sight
On a seventh tour of a second war; and I’m sick of all these silent nights
All I want for Christmas All I want for Christmas
Is the one I love…Home safe in my arms…Home and safe in my arms…

The house is so big, as I sit here alone
Half a world away and so far from home
Spending each day holding fast to the wish
That maybe some day I won’t have to miss
Look to the future fight through the present
Try to forget that I hate and I resent
All the things that caused this broken family...
